It's definitely a place to try and try again. I spent a whole evening there and tried both the bar and the restaurant. The place has a South African inspiration but perfectly integrates Angolan culture. I live in the center of Luanda, so it took me 30 minutes to reach the place in Patriota, but it was not hard to find at all. It has two ambiances: an indoor and an outdoor area. The music is chill house, perfect for a good time. There is a quality sound system, and it's not super loud, so I could speak to my friends effortlessly without being disturbed by the other tables. There are two massive screens, which would be very cool for a game night. The equipment is of good quality, with comfortable chairs and tables, the bathroom is clean and has a pleasant design. The decoration is beautiful; it feels cozy and warm. The service personnel are adorable and efficient, some of whom speak perfect English. There is a great selection of drinks at the bar. Usually, in Luanda, I like to have a Caipirinha de Maracujá, and this one is from now on, in my top three best in Luanda—fresh, fruity, foamy, and not too sweet. Now, it's a restaurant, so how about the food? I had choco frito (fried calamari) and a double-battered chicken breast fillet served with a mushroom sauce! The quality is above expectations: - The fried calamari came with a spicy sauce, a very crispy batter, perfectly fried with a lovely golden-brown color, and generous portions. - The double-battered chicken breast fillet was not dry at all. On its own, it would have been a good dish made of two chicken breasts with ham and cheese in the middle (it reminded me of the French dish cordon bleu), but topped with the mushroom sauce, it's a good balance—comforting and appealing. It was served with homemade French fries, which were very good (I don't think I've ever had good homemade fries in Angola). In terms of price, it is very affordable.
